The Udyogi UB102 Full Body Safety Harness is a fall-arrest harness supplied complete with an energy-absorbing lanyard and scaffolding hook, built for workers at height in construction, scaffolding, tower climbing and rescue work. It carries a single dorsal D-ring and two textile chest attachment loops, spreads fall-arrest forces across the whole body, and is certified to IS 3521 (Parts 1, 2 and 5): 2021 as well as EN 361, EN 354, EN 355 and EN 362.
What you get with the UB102
- One dorsal D-ring and two textile chest loops — front or rear attachment for fall arrest, so the same harness suits ladder work, scaffolding and general work at height.
- Energy-absorbing lanyard with scaffolding hook — the shock pack limits the force transmitted to the body during a fall; the large-gape scaffold hook clips directly onto tube, rebar and structural steel without a separate connector.
- Chest-mounted lanyard parking point — the lanyard stows on the harness when it isn't clipped in, instead of dragging or snagging on the structure.
- Fall indicator — a supervisor can tell at a glance during inspection whether the harness has arrested a fall and must be withdrawn from service.
- Dual-colour webbing — yellow and black webbing makes it obvious which way round the harness goes, which cuts donning errors on site.
- Adjustable at chest and thigh — one harness fits a range of build sizes, so stores can stock a single line item instead of size-matching every worker.

Certification
The UB102 is certified against both the Indian and European fall-protection standards, which matters on projects where the client specification or the safety audit asks for documented conformity:
| IS 3521 (Part 1): 2021 | Indian standard for full body harnesses |
| IS 3521 (Part 2): 2021 | Indian standard for lanyards and energy absorbers |
| IS 3521 (Part 5): 2021 | Indian standard covering connectors |
| EN 361: 2002 | European standard for full body harnesses |
| EN 354: 2010 | European standard for lanyards |
| EN 355: 2002 | European standard for energy absorbers |
| EN 362: 2004 | European standard for connectors |
Not sure which harness class your site specification calls for? Read our guide to safety harness and belt classes under IS 3521.
Where it is used
- Construction and scaffolding — protection through the construction phase of infrastructure and scaffold erection.
- Fall arrest systems — for workers on elevated platforms and structures.
- Rescue and evacuation — retrieval and emergency work.
- Tower climbing — utility and energy sector climbing work.
Industries served include pharmaceutical, chemical, automobile, food and breweries, marine, transportation, steel, general manufacturing, oil and gas, power, construction, heavy manufacturing, agriculture and FMCG.
Safe use, inspection and storage
Load limit
Total mass of the user including tools and equipment must not exceed 100 kg. The full body harness must be used with an appropriate fall arrest device that has an energy absorption facility.
- Inspect the harness before every use.
- Check that all buckles, straps and D-rings are securely fastened.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for donning, adjustment and maintenance.
- Replace the harness immediately if it has been involved in a fall or shows signs of wear.
- Only trained and authorised personnel should use fall protection harnesses.
- Never modify the harness in any way.
Storage: keep the harness in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, high heat and extreme temperatures, which can weaken the material or cause fading. Storing and transporting it in its original packaging protects it from contamination and damage.
Buying harnesses for a site or a fleet?
Shree Shakti Industries supplies Udyogi fall protection across India, with slab pricing on carton and site quantities, GST invoicing and dispatch against purchase order. Send us your quantity and delivery location and we will come back with a landed price.
Ask us about matching lanyards, anchorage slings, retractable fall arresters and full site kitting — including safety footwear, helmets and gloves on the same invoice.
Frequently asked questions
Is the lanyard included with the UB102?
Yes. The UB102 is supplied as a full body harness together with an energy absorbing lanyard and scaffolding hook, so it is ready to use as a complete fall arrest assembly once an anchor point is identified.
What is the maximum user weight?
The safe working load capacity is 100 kg. That figure is total mass — the worker plus tools, belt and anything else carried.
Is the UB102 BIS certified to the current Indian standard?
It is certified as per IS 3521 (Part 1): 2021, IS 3521 (Part 2): 2021 and IS 3521 (Part 5): 2021 — the 2021 revision covering harnesses, lanyards and energy absorbers, and connectors. It is also certified to EN 361: 2002, EN 354: 2010, EN 355: 2002 and EN 362: 2004.
Why does it need a scaffolding hook rather than a normal snap hook?
A scaffolding hook has a large gape, so it closes directly around scaffold tube, rebar or structural steel. A standard snap hook is too small for most site steelwork and would need an additional anchorage sling.
How do I know if a used harness must be withdrawn from service?
The UB102 has a fall indicator built in. If it has deployed, the harness has arrested a fall and must be taken out of use immediately. Any harness showing cuts, abrasion, chemical damage, heat damage or distorted hardware should also be withdrawn.
Do you supply against purchase order with GST invoice?
Yes. Shree Shakti Industries supplies to contractors, EPC firms and plant stores against purchase order with a GST invoice, and can hold repeat stock for scheduled site deliveries.
