The Udyogi U-Force 1020 is a black synthetic-leather safety shoe built for sites where the floor is the hazard — acids, alkalis, spills and hot surfaces. Its single-density soft polymer injected sole resists chemicals and withstands contact heat up to 150°C for one minute, while a 100 J alloy steel toe cap protects against falling objects. Certified to IS 15298 (Part 3), it is a hard-wearing everyday shoe for construction, metal and steel, heavy engineering and chemical plants.

Standard IS 15298 Part 3 Toe cap Alloy steel, 100 J
Sole Single density soft polymer, cleated Upper Barton print synthetic leather
Sizes 5 to 12 Weight 1200 g (size 8, ±5%)

Check your site specification before ordering. The U-Force 1020 is certified to IS 15298 Part 3 with a 100 J toe cap. Many industrial tenders and contractor checklists call for IS 15298 Part 2 (200 J) instead. If your requirement says Part 2 or 200 J, you need a Part 2 shoe — talk to us and we will point you to the right model.

Why buy the U-Force 1020

  • Chemical resistant sole. The single-density soft polymer injected sole resists acids, alkalis and general chemical attack — the reason this model is specified in chemical plants and metal processing.
  • Heat resistant to 150°C for one minute. Contact heat resistance for walking over hot surfaces, slag and warm workshop floors.
  • 100 J alloy steel toe cap. Protective reinforcement in the toe that shields the foot from falling objects.
  • Anti-skid cleated sole. A deep cleated tread pattern for grip on loose site surfaces, with slip resistance built in.
  • Barton print synthetic leather upper. High tear and tensile strength, excellent abrasion resistance, ageing resistance and a water-resistant surface — and it does not crack the way finished leather does.
  • Coated D-type eyelets. Lace hooks that let you loosen and re-tighten the shoe quickly at the end of a shift, and stay corrosion free.
  • Anti-bacterial and odour free. A foam-padded breathable mesh lining with an EVA-and-textile insock for shock absorption and all-day comfort.

IS 15298 Part 3, and how it differs from Part 2

IS 15298 is the Bureau of Indian Standards specification for occupational footwear, and it is split into parts by the level of toe protection:

Part Called Toe cap impact
Part 2 Safety footwear 200 J
Part 3 Protective footwear 100 J — this shoe

Part 3 is the right specification for a great many jobs — general construction, warehousing, service work and small manufacturing — where the real risks are slips, chemical splash and abrasion rather than heavy objects falling from height. Where your risk assessment or client specification calls for 200 J, choose a Part 2 shoe instead. If you are not sure which applies, send us the specification and we will read it for you.

Where the U-Force 1020 is used

  • Construction & infrastructure — site work, civil and finishing trades
  • Metal & steel — fabrication shops and rolling mills, where the heat-resistant sole earns its place
  • Heavy engineering — machine shops and plant maintenance
  • Chemical industry — areas with acid and alkali spillage underfoot
  • Warehouse & transport — stores, dispatch and yard duty
  • Manufacturing & service industry — small manufacturing units, facilities and maintenance teams

Sizing and fit

Care and storage

  • Wipe with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust, then polish with black cherry cream.
  • Store in a dark, dry and well-ventilated area.
  • Keep away from sources of heat.
  • Keep the shoe off the floor when stored.
  • Replace the shoe if the toe cap takes a heavy impact or the sole tread is worn smooth.

Frequently asked questions

Is the U-Force 1020 a 200 J safety shoe?

No. It has a 100 J alloy steel toe cap and is certified to IS 15298 Part 3. If your site specification asks for 200 J or Part 2, this is not the right model — ask us and we will recommend one that is.

What is the difference between IS 15298 Part 2 and Part 3?

Part 2 covers safety footwear with a 200 J toe cap; Part 3 covers protective footwear with a 100 J toe cap. Both are legitimate BIS specifications — the right one depends on your risk assessment, not on which number is bigger.

Is the upper real leather?

No, it is Barton print synthetic leather. That is deliberate: it gives high tear and tensile strength, better abrasion and ageing resistance, and a water-resistant surface that will not crack the way finished leather does after repeated wetting and drying.

Can the sole handle acids and chemicals?

Yes. The single-density soft polymer injected sole is made to resist slip, chemicals, acid and alkali. As with any chemical-resistant footwear, resistance varies by substance and concentration — if you handle a specific aggressive chemical, send us the name and we will check it before you order.

How much heat can the sole take?

Contact heat up to 150°C for one minute. That covers walking across a hot surface, not standing on one — it is not a foundry boot.

Are these shoes antistatic or ESD safe?

The U-Force 1020 is not specified as antistatic. If you need static-dissipative footwear for electronics assembly or a similar area, ask us for an antistatic model instead.

Are they waterproof?

The upper is water resistant, not waterproof. It handles splashes and wet floors, but it is not meant for standing in water — use a gumboot for that.

How much does a pair weigh?

1200 g for size 8, with a tolerance of ±5% across the size range.

Do you supply in bulk with mixed sizes?

Yes. Standard packing is 20 pairs per carton, and we regularly ship mixed size splits against a purchase order with GST invoicing. Send us your size-wise requirement and we will quote.
